Manipulation through advertising!
With the number of people receiving advertising messages daily, advertisers should send positive messages, 'good', ethical. But is that really what we receive from advertisers through their messages?
Today, advertising is an element found almost everywhere.
Advertising agencies have taken advantage of the various existing means for circulating ads that invite us to consume a lot of products.
Throughout the years, the strategic use of language in advertising has transformed (reduced) the human being from an individual into an object of consumption. This use has allowed the performance of two opposing tasks: that of convincing people that they are being ‘promoted’ to levels of freedom and happiness, while being subjected to a dominion.

This is not the hamburger we saw in the ad, but we have been manipulated by an image, so we went to buy it, and when we've already bought and consumed, we see how it really is.
We are in the era of consumption so we buy products for a huge amount of need, which have mostly been created by advertising itself. It never stop going on sale new products, although many times they are useless. This is where another problem appears from the ethical point of view. The industry deceives us to sell their products.
They use some methods to manipulate us such as:
1. Create problems, then offer solutions.
2. Degradation Strategy.
3. Keep the public in ignorance and idiocy.
4. They insert messages, songs, in your head without being conscious.
And, as you know, there are a lot of brands trying to manipulate people to sell their products.
And now, a question:
Do you know some brands trying to manipulate people in their advertisements?
Here, you have some examples (in my opinion):
THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION!

What is a Social Network Site?
Social network is a global revolution, enabling around a billion people worldwide to stay in touch with their friends, share experiences and photographs and exchange personal content. In many ways it has replaced the telephone and email. For many users, it has become a way of life. Various social networking sites are also valuable tools used by many companies and individuals to extend their contacts and deliver marketing messages. The nature of social networking – having such a massive base of users who are unknown to you – means that using it carries a degree of risk including becoming a target for cyber-criminals.
What are the dangers of the Social Networks Site?
There are a lot of dangers, but basically are:
-Disclosure of private information by either yourself or friends/contacts.
-Bullying.
-Cyber-stalking.
-Access to age-inappropriate content.
-Online grooming and child abuse.
-Encountering comments that are violent, sexual, extremist or racist in nature, or offensive activities and hateful attitudes.
-People trying to persuade or harrass you into
changing your basic beliefs or ideologies, or adopt an extremist stance.
-Prosecution or recrimination from posting offensive or inappropriate comments.
-Phishing emails allegedly from social networking sites, but actually encouraging you to visit fraudulent or inappropriate websites.
-Friends’, other people’s and companies' posts encouraging you to link to fraudulent or inappropriate websites.
-People hacking into or hijacking your account or page.
-Viruses or spyware contained within message attachments or photographs.

Politics
thank to Internet
Internet has become one of the most used tools in the
world. Useful for all, singers upload videos to youtube and get
popularity, for example, Pablo Alboran. But most showy of all, there
are political parties that have come to the place where they are
thanks to the internet, for example, Oboma (USA President) or here in
Spain, for example a political party called PODEMOS.
Obama (President of EEUU) Pablo Iglesias (Podemos,Spain)
Obama
despite having 45 years using social media knows very well. Obama
also called President 2.0 will use social media to achieve its
objective, to be US president. Pablo Iglesias is currently the leader
of CAN. Thanks to twitter and other social networks these people and
many have gotten more fans to support them and got their objective.
Twitter
is one of the means most used by these people. Thanks to this network
can see what people think and communicate with his followers.
Questions:
- Do you know more people who use social networks to be famous?

MANIPULATIONS
1.- What is a manipulation?
Manipulation is the control that
an individual or group of individuals trying to take control of the
feelings of another person or group of people, using techniques of
persuasion or eliminate the critical capabilities of a person, his
ability to judge.
Manipulation is the control that
an individual or group of individuals trying to take control of the
feelings of another person or group of people, using techniques of
persuasion or eliminate the critical capabilities of a person, his
ability to judge.
Extreme
forms of manipulation would be, for example, brainwashing or those
which lead to suicide.
2.- The
profile of the manipulator
The
manipulator is sure that everything should be like him and
think other people should help him to do this. The word
"should" is the center of any manipulation.
These
rules prevent the manipulator take the place of the other person. To
achieve its objectives, the manipulator will implement various
strategies, one of which is the critical, threat (amenaza) and
guilt (culpa).
The
person who is a victim of manipulation always do something to defend
it or deflect criticism, this will be an incentive for the
manipulator proceed.
In
many cases to avoid being criticized or threatened, manipulated
person will do what the manipulator asks just to eliminate criticism
and feeds the other's actions and helps keep your attitude. In other
words, if the manipulator gets what he wants with a series of
strategies, it is clear that repeated in the future, because it will
have been useful to achieve its objectives.
4.- How to detect if you are being manipulated by someone else?
1.-The
best thing to detect it is stopping to think what they are feeling in
the presence of the other, if you feel guilt (culpa), fear
(miedo), insecurity, disgust (asco), shame (vergüenza),
probably we are being manipulated.
2.-Another
way to tell is asking if what you are doing at that moment is what
you wanted to do, if this is not true is that these jumping your
principles and values by someone, that someone who is detected and
that will have your
manipulator.
Emotional blackmail (chantaje emocional) can take different forms. The key is to provoke a mixture of fear, obligation and guilt.
Emotional blackmail:
Punishment: For example: "If you do not come with me today, you do not expect that tomorrow I will go with you".
The self-punishment: "If you don't love me, life doesn't make sense to me, so I leave me".
The promises: "If you keep me, I promise I'll change and we will be happy."
Become the victim: "If you not come to see me, I'll alone all the day."
Give to receive: "Because I helped you I deserve (merecer) something in return."
5.- Escape from the trap
If someone sends you a trap like: "You don't have to come. you have a lot of work and, overall, I always alone. "
One way to remove the manipulative traps is to make them explicit, verbalize what is expressed indirectly. If we do as accusation, saying for example: "What you really want is that I go with you and for that you make me feel guilty", it is easy to disprove by the other side or answer there as a greater indictment.
We must learn to properly to clarify misunderstandings (malentendido) or confusing situations.
Manipulations cease to have power over us if we recognize ourselves what we are, and the other person express how he/she feels.
You can say, for example: "I am divided. On the one hand you tell me not to come, but then I get the impression that if I do not do this, this bother you (te fastidiará). Tell me what you really want and I'll see what I can do. "

News Manipulation
Throughout time, there have been different ways of giving information to the public, such as television, radio and newspapers.
At present, these means give support to different political and economic powers and lose objectivity, the fact to serve the truth and emphasize their ideas over others manipulating the information provided. It can occur when the journalist occult all the information by giving us manipulated one.
The manipulation in comunication we see in the newspaper every day, or in the radio, in television you always or most times you see that manipulation.*
For example, the case of P.J. Ramirez, who was until a few months the director of "El Mundo" newspaper, in this case all the other newspapers reacted by giving false inormation about the video.
Like this case much more, and I'm sure you know more...
Can you tell me one?

WE ARE PUPPETS
News manipulation is a series of related techniques in which media creates an image or argument that favours their own interests.
These tactics may include the use of propaganda, and often involve
the elimination of information , by persuading other people to
stop listening to certain arguments, or by simply turning away attention
elsewhere.
There are many types of news manipulation and so many techniques to do
it. We’re going to read some of them:
There are many examples of how newspapers around the
world use Photoshop images in order to influence public opinion.
Advertising
News can be manipulated in advertisements in several
ways, for example, touching up people or through subliminal advertising.
We are going to see a video in which a product such as a perfume is introduced by a woman. Of course, a beautiful woman... But, is she as beautiful as we see on TV?
Subliminal
advertising
The receptor of this type of advertisement is not conscious of these promotional messages, such as those played at very low volume or flashed on a screen for less than a second. Its use is considered an unreliable business practice.

Baskin Robbins — This logo, uses the company's initials to advertise its number of ice cream
flavors (31).
Tour de France— the Tour de France logo contains a well-integrated biker.
The not-so-hidden design within this logo conjures up
feelings of togetherness and friendship over chips and salsa.
There are millions of examples of this type of
advertising. Let’s watch a video to know more about it.
Now you know that you must not believe all that you
listen to. You must believe in yourself and check is something is correct or
not. Don’t be innocent!
I hope you enjoy my post.
