Human complexes.

When we talk about complexes we refer to a "complexed" person or suffering from "psychical complexes" when presented a marked disagreement with one or several physical or mental aspects of yourself.
These complexes rarely have to do with the individual's reality and really is the person that has exaggerated this complex and has given paramount importance.
Many of these complexes appear in childhood and are reinforced and maintained over the years. The person lacks the capacity to interpret this defect more objectively and is enclosed in a negativity that does not exist for the rest of the world.

Believe I am ugly, or clumsy or dull, we will bring many problems of long-term integration as our interpersonal relationships will suffer for it. A person is considered "dull", will behave as such, everyone will see and labeled for life.
Maybe it was when I was little dull -for being shy or other issues- but people evolve and we have no reason to keep the prototype imposed on us as children. Of course it is an individual and personal work that does not happen.

                                                                Types of complexes:

-Complex Hagar and Sarah

Male or insconciente tendency to classify women into two groups: the good, pure and untouchable in the likeness of the mother; and bad, suitable for sexual satisfaction, but unworthy of love.

-Achilles complex:

Tendency to hide their own weakness, impotence or homosexuality under the guise of invulnerability or heroism.

-Complex Brunilda

Trend young to want to see her boyfriend a superman or a hero.

(there are many kinds of complexes apart from these.)

Sometimes the fault of the complexes makes people fall in like illness like anorexy or bulimy.

STEREOTYPES

The stereotypes are when people talk about another without knowing. Talk about his personality, his way of dressing, his musical tastes or something.
Also we judge people by their nationalities and religions.
In my opinion, if you don't know a person you can't talk about he because you can wrong. For example; if you talk about me, I feel bad, sad or embarrassed even I can be angry because it's false.
There are many types is stereotypes such as:
Woman: housewife, mother, always beautiful, patient, sensitive, dependent, sensitive, sexual object, frivolous, tender, submissive.
Man: worker, intelligent, strong, do not cry, brave, head of household, supplier, likes risks, aggressive.
Ederly: they are categorized as useless, sick, dependent, and unproductive.
Racial: based on ethnic and cultural differences inferior to people of different color, national origin  culture, cataloging such as terrorists, criminals, or silly considering.
Social classes: the poor generalized ignorance and crime, rich with pride and arrogance, single mothers with a slight conduct.
Gothic, hippy people...all people have an equivocated idea about them, we judge people without know them. In addiction, each persone is a wold, we have to know them before talk or judge them !
Other possible example of stereotypes is when I arrived to this school, nobody knew me and my first appareance is equivocated...with my dreadlocks or my form of speak !!

Stereotypes

Well, today,I'm going to talk about a topic that it's too near us.

In the movie 'Billy Elliot',we saw a typical stereotype:if a boy dances ballet,is gay and that's not the way. A boy can dance ballet better than a girl, each one is good in what they likes.
Also,Luis Pedro said us last Friday, the voley,at the beginning was too racist, until some years, the voley was considered a sport for men.

The main example we know is:the pink is for girls and blue for boys, girls' toys are dolls, buggies, plastic kitchen... and boys' toys are   playmobil,balls,videogames...

But when I chose this topic,I wanted it to talk about two words that have the same relation:fashion and society.

Nowdays, when we think about fashion,we think about: skinny jeans, miniskirts,
short dresses, very high heels, heavy makeup,t-shirts that are more tops than t-shirts,bikinis that cover the minimum...
But this has not always been the usual fashion.

These are the clothes that the 60's women wore.Today,we can say that the clothes are horrible but it was like our actual skinny jeans or like our Pull and Bear's hoodies.

As you can see, fashion is something daily in our lives and it change every time.
We can see that in the 70's,the trendiest was tight t-shirts and bell's trousers and the boys use very colourful clothes. In the 80 and 90's,girls started to use shorts and short dresses but they were too extravagant, they used too much colours and their hairstyle were strange.
And nowdays, the fashion is the opposite of this decades: tight trousers,t-shirts,dresses,skirts,very high heels...
Now,we see photos of years that we hadn't lived in and we thought that are horrible, that the most beautiful clothes are the actual but those people were like us,they were followers of the fashion, they followed the style of the time like us.

Also,I'm going to talk a bit about the society's opinion. The nowdays people's thought is that you must have a good physic, without a good physic you aren't nothing. This is a symbol of this society.

How many girls didn't cry in their bedrooms in the entire world because they don't follow the society's image, because some boys in their country said them ''ugly'',''fat'',''unusable'',''alone'',''rare'' and many adjectives more that can be like a sword in their interior and which change them forever.
Some girls change because of these opinions and change to better, others continue doing the usual because they like what they do and others change to worse and that's a shame.

If we compare the 90's models and the actuals models, there's a big change.
The actuals models are beautiful but are so thin,I think that have a good body is good, but the word thin had been carried to extremes.
It's normal that someone gets sad because is not as thin as them because it's impossible.

Candice Huffine revoluciona el mundo de la moda

Some days ago, this model revolutizioned the world.
When the people waited for an international model to see the new clothes of the brand, she appeared and everybody were confused because they had the normal stereotype of a thin model, small clothes...
I'm happy to see that these girls also can promote clothes, important announcements... not only the thin girls because everybody can do the same things, because not only for have some more kilos, you're underestimated.

In conclusion,it doesn't matter what size you use or what type of clothes you want to prefer wear, the important is that you've got your own personality and the fashion can come or can go,can change or can be follow, but the only who continue here,is you .

Questions:
1.- Can you tell me one example of a very known stereotype?
2.-Do you think that been so thin is beauty? Do you want to be as thin as this girls?

Stereotypes

Stereotypes

A stereotype is a thought that someone has about specific types of individuals or certain ways of doing things.

You see a little fat boy and you think that he is ugly. [ You don't know that he had a bad illness since he was born. ]

You see a junkie in the street and you think that he must be silly. [ You don't know that he was bulled in school because of his good marks. ]

You see a 17-year old mother and you think that she is a slut. [ You don't know that she was assaulted when she was 16 .]

You see a man kissing another man and you think that he is gay. [ You don't know that it was his brother and that he has not seen him for 3 years because of a war.]

There are stereotypes about men and women, about different countries and about specific groups of people.

Gender stereotypes:

Gender stereotypes begin when a baby's gender is found out.

We think that all men love cars. Men don't do housework and they don't know taking care of children. Men play video games and sports and enjoy outdoor activities.

We think women are not strong and they make less money than men. Women don't play sports.
Women have to stay at home do housework. Women love to sing and dance.

Stereotypes of countries

The same man shows nine different pictures that most people have of each country:

Stereotypes because of appearance

I think it's just not fair to have these stereotypes of a person, because each person is an individual and it is perfectly normal, the way he/she is.

STEREOTYPES

Stereotypes HurtI'm a blonde so I must be sillyI'm a brunette so I must know moreI wear glasses so I must be an idiotI'm overweight so I must be lazyI'm a  gamer so I must be uglyI wear suggestive clothes so I must be asking to get rapedI'm a girl who hangs around guys so I must be gayI'm a guy who hangs around girls so I must be queerI'm a construction worker so I must drink beerI'm a lesbian so I must check out every girl I seeI'm black so I must be a gangster and love hip hopI'm rich so I must be self-centeredI'm poor so I must not go to workIt doesn't matter who you are or "what you are"

Stereotypes

HOW OTHER PEOPLE SEE US

All the countries have stereotypes but, what is exactly a stereotype? Well a stereotype is the way of thinking of a person about a group of people. For example, when we think about American people, we think about fat people with an addiction to guns. That's not like that. Some people in America are fat, like in any other country and they have permission to have guns, but that don't make them guns addicts. Also, there are stereotypes of races and cultures. For example, a black person is not always a criminal.

Stereotypes are bad for everybody because they cause discrimination to a community. From other countries, people think that the people from Spain are always in parties and never work. There are also good stereotypes like that people from Spain are always happy and friendly. We can see cultural stereotypes in Spain too like the Flamenco for example.

WE CAN'T THINK ABOUT OTHER COMMUNITY USING STEREOTYPES
BECAUSE THE ARE A FALSE WAY OF THINK OF HOW THEY REALLY ARE

STEREOTYPES

STEREOTYPES                               In the way someone is wearing something

A stereotype can be in the thinking, in the country, in the culture, or like this case, in the way someone is wearing something. Usually stereotypes give us a wrong idea of how someone or somewhere is.
As you can see in this photo someone "Hermit" has to be disheveled, unshaven, with long hair etc.
"Gothic" is also someone who wears black, she makes up in black, and is demonic.

Someone "Tenured" has to wear very good clothes, be elegant, and respectfull.

A "Cultured" person has to wear with diferent simple clothes and be very intellectual.

A "Pariah" is a person who lives in Paros or as stereotypes say a excluded, unsocial and ugly person, who wears diferent clothes, but not bad clothes.

I have no words to describe "Star!!" a very extravagant way of wearing the clothes.

Someone who wears T-shirts with words like "forbidden to forbid" is "Dissenter".

Someone has to be "crunchy" because he/she likes to dress like Bob Marley and people like him.

A "lush" person isn't neccesary to be silly but he/she wears very diferent because
he/she doesn't know anything about the place.

A "Queer" has to dress very well and always very detailed.
A "def" wears punky and bangy clothes.
And "youth" wears the clothes with no style
 because follows all fashions.

In conclusion you can't judge

In the way someone is wearing something

STEREOTYPES

DEFINITION:

·The stereotypes are characteristics ascribed to groups of people involving gender, race, national origin and other factors. These characteristics tend to be oversimplifications of the groups involved, however. For example, someone who meets a few individuals from a particular country and finds them to be quiet and reserved may spread the word that all citizens from the country in question are quiet and reserved.
A generalization such as this doesn’t allow for diversity within groups and may result in stigmatization and discrimination of groups if the stereotypes linked to them are largely negative. That said, even so-called positive stereotypes can be harmful due to their limiting nature.

In this picture you can see some examples of stereotypes, and Do you think this people are like that the stereotypes means?

Well, sometimes we supposed that this stereotypes are true, and for me a stereotype doesn´t describe a person for only their appearance, because a teenager hasn´t been a causer, some people could be a causer and they aren´t teenager, and other times a teenager is a causer, but for only one person, all teenager have to be a causer? No, of course, all people are different and have different personality.

·Other example of stereotype is the nationality:

Sometimes we think that a italian person is a lovely or a french person is a good chef. But when we meet this people, we learn that it isn´t true, because some spanish people could be lovely or some english people could be chef.

In conclusion, a stereotype doesn´t say how are people of different countries.

STEREOTYPES IN SOME COUNTRIES

All people know that a stereotype is a general idea of a thing, in this case, of a country.

So, we have to...

This has influence about customs and traditions of countries. Not always stereotypes are bad although we have to avoid them because they make you think about a country and judge it and you will have a wrong idea of that country!

Now, I'm going to talk about some stereotypes in several countries of the world.

For example, if we talk about Norway, people think on ice and snow and people skiing, because there it is very cold!

On the other hand, when we say "Netherlands", people think that Dutch people are always smoking marijuana, but it isn't true!

Also, when we are watching TV and you hear "Canada" you think that a reindeer goes to appear, although there are other things in Canada, not only reindeers!

Then, if we talk of Australia, you think that is all full of kangaroos or also, you can think that is face down because Australia is almost in the South extreme of the Earth.

It is very typical to think that in Russia, people always is drinking an alcoholic drink called Vodka but it isn't true!

Also, when we talk about Italy, we think that they are very good lovers, but not all people is good loving! When I think on Italy, I think in pizza too.

Then, if we say "Brazil" we imagine people playing football in the middle of the street or a large queue of people dancing Samba.

It can be that if we talk about USA, we think that the Americans are very fats and they are spying us, but not all people is fat or spy us.

It is very typical talk about South Korea (or also Japan) and you think that people from there are always playing strange videogames.

Finally, if we say "Ireland" we think that all people are drinking bear all the time and they are always drunks but it isn't true.

I hope you've learnt a little bit more about stereotypes of some countries, also I hope that you try to avoid them!!

An Irishman's philosophy

Do a scheme about the follow famous Irish topic:

In life, there are only two things to worry about—

Either you are well or you are sick.

If you are well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about—

Either you will get well or you will die.

If you get well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you die, there are only two things to worry about—

Either you will go to heaven or hell.

If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands with all your friends

You won’t have time to worry!
